Mahila Congress stages protest; demands justice to Anganavadi workers

Mangaluru, Jan 25, 2023: Members of the DK District Women’s Congress unit staged a protest in front of the Mini Vidhana Saudha on January 25, Wednesday in protest against the state government for not responding to the demands of the Anganavadi workers.

Addressing the protestors, State Women’s Congress President Pushpa Amarnath said the state government was neck deep in corruption and was not responding to the problems of the people, Even the chief minister is shielding his corrupt ministers, she alleged.

She alleged that the government has committed atrocities on protesting Anganavadi workers and demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the family of an Anganavadi worker who lost her life.

District Women’s Congress President Shalet Pinto,  leaders Shakuntala Shetty, Mamatha Gatti, Jacintha Vijay Alfred, Kripa Alva and others participated in the protest.
