Mangaluru, Sep 24, 2025: To maintain law and order, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, who has 32 criminal cases registered against him, has been externed to Manvi taluk of Raichur district. Puttur Subdivision Assistant Commissioner Stella Varghese issued the order, under which Timarodi has been sent out of Dakshina Kannada district for one year.
Authorities said Timarodi has been involved in more than 32 cases related to law violations, creating unrest, and disturbing social stability. He has also been accused of sheltering Chinnayya, an accused in the Dharmasthala “Burude case” and the “body burial case.”
Officials noted that he was engaged in several activities disrupting public peace, including the Soujanya agitation. In view of this, he has been externed to safeguard public order.
It is said that in the ongoing SIT investigations into the multiple “buried body” cases, there may be no substantial evidence, and the cases are likely to be closed. There is also a possibility that Burude Chinnayya may give a voluntary statement in court admitting his role in hatching the conspiracy. Whether fresh cases and arrests will be made against others allegedly involved in the conspiracy remains uncertain.
Moreover, the scope of continuing investigation into the alleged conspiracy against Dharmasthala has narrowed.
Against this backdrop, officials said Timarodi has been externed after reviewing his overall record of criminal cases, aiming for a satisfactory conclusion to the issue.
