Mangalore, Mar 4, 2012: The Mangalore Art Hub, an art facility for the promotion of art and artists, was inaugurated by famous artist, Ramesh Rao at Devaki Nivas, Matadakani, Urwa Market on March 3. The facility has been inaugurated by the Madhusudhan Education Foundation in honor of Devaki Jarappa.
Ramesh Rao of Artists’ Forum inaugurated the Mangalore Art Hub by lighting the lamp with other dignitaries on the stage.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Rao said that Koti Prasad Alva and Ganesh Somayaji have made Mangalore an ideal place for artists through their Prasad Art Gallery. Speaking of the difficulties of maintaining art galleries, he said that the Mangalore Art Hub will turn out to be a boon for artists as it provides a facility to showcase their works.

Voicing her opinions on the occasion, artist Pramila Salian said that only Prasad Art Gallery has helped retain Mangalore’s artistic culture. She said that the Mangalore Art Hub will invite budding artists from all over the country to meet, interact, and discuss artistic ideas.
