MSNIM-Rotary Biz Quiz 2025 Organised

Mangaluru, May 31, 2025: The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), in association with the Rotary Club of Mangalore North, organized the MSNIM–Rotary Biz Quiz 2025 on Friday, May 30, at its campus in Bondel, Mangaluru. The business quiz drew participation from over 2,000 students representing 35 degree colleges across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The preliminary first round of the quiz was conducted at the respective colleges. The top five teams from each college were selected for the second preliminary round held at MSNIM, from which eight teams qualified for the finals. Besant Evening College, Mangaluru, emerged as the winner of the quiz, while Dr. G. Shanker First Grade Women’s College, Udupi, and Canara College, Mangaluru, secured second and third places respectively.

Among the winning teams, Nisma Ayath, Arifa, Ashmitha, Arun and Anirudh represented Besant Evening College; Hrathika K., Dhanyashree, Rakshitha, B. Sridevi Varamballi and Greeshma represented Dr. G. Shanker First Grade Women’s College; and Shriram Bhat, Sumanth Pai, Pavan Pai, Thrivikram Shenoy and Vedanth Nayak represented Canara College. Sachin R. Chandra, Assistant Professor and M.Com Coordinator at Manipal School of Commerce and Economics, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, was the quizmaster.

Mohan Nair, President of the Rotary Club of Mangalore North, was the guest of honour at the prize distribution ceremony. K.V. Raghav Kamath, Former General Manager, Corporation Bank, and Governing Body Member, MSNIM, presided over the function. Other dignitaries present included Dr. Arun Kumar Shetty, President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Mangalore North, T.G. Shenoy, Rotary Club Member, and Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri, Director, MSNIM.

In his address, Rtn. Mohan Nair emphasized the decade-long partnership between Rotary and MSNIM in organizing quiz competitions. “This initiative lays a strong foundation for enhancing general knowledge,” he said, encouraging students to make quizzing a regular habit as it sharpens the mind and fosters a spirit of learning.

Delivering the presidential address, K.V. Raghav Kamath underlined the importance of quiz competitions in students’ all-round development. “Quizzes enhance knowledge, critical thinking, confidence, and teamwork,” he noted, adding that such events should be elevated to mega-events to attract broader participation.

Assistant Professor Divya Achar welcomed the gathering and introduced the event. A report on the quiz was presented by Assistant Professor Arpitha Devadiga. Assistant Professor Dr. Aditi Kamath proposed the vote of thanks, and Assistant Professor Manasa compered the event. The quiz was coordinated by Saju M.V., Administrative Officer, MSNIM.
