MRPL premises must be declared non-flying zone: DC

Mangalore, Jan 30, 2014:  At a meeting with airport officials held at the DC office on January 29, Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim said that the MRPL premises  need to be declared as a non-flying zone by the department concerned considering the fact that the MRPL and the Mangalore International airport are in close proximity. He also issued suitable directions in this regard.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed all authorities  concerned to  furnish information on disaster management within the next fortnight. He also stressed the need to renew the strategies for disaster management.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Tulasi Maddineni  said the funds required for disaster management measures would be collected every month from  ten major companies operating in the district.
