MP Nalin Kumar Kateel among 14 who appear court

Sullia, Aug 22,  2012 : Fourteen people, including MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) Convener Jagadish Karanth, and Shrinidhi Hegde, appeared at the local court on August 21, Tuesday.

They all stand accused of making inflammatory speeches of communal nature at a public meeting organized under the banner of Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike near the Sullia Bus Stand on February 12, 2009, just before the Lok Sabha elections.

Someone called Usman of Kallumutlu had lodged a private complaint against the 14 people, and the cause was adjourned till Oct 9.
