Mangaluru, May 18, 2025: Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta has been named among 59 Members of Parliament chosen to be part of seven all-party delegations tasked with representing India on the global stage. These delegations aim to convey India’s firm stance against terrorism across more than 30 countries, spanning Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
Captain Chowta, alongside Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, is among two parliamentarians from Karnataka selected for this significant diplomatic mission. Their participation highlights the state’s contribution to advancing India’s message of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
The initiative comes in the aftermath of the May 7 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives, prompting swift military action by India against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The delegations also align with the government’s diplomatic momentum post-Operation Sindoor.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju emphasized that the teams, comprising MPs from diverse political backgrounds, symbolize a unified national resolve against terrorism. Representatives from ruling and opposition parties, including BJP, Congress, JD(U), DMK, Shiv Sena, and others, will reinforce India’s commitment to global security and peace.
The delegations, led by senior parliamentarians such as Ravi Shankar Prasad, Shashi Tharoor, Kanimozhi, Supriya Sule, and Baijayant Panda, will engage with policymakers and leaders in countries including the US, UK, Russia, Japan, Brazil, UAE, and South Africa.
