Mangaluru, July 13, 2025: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta on Saturday launched ‘Bolpu – A Dawn of Opportunities’, a flagship initiative to nurture startups and empower entrepreneurs in the region. The program aims to provide funding, mentorship, market access, and advisory support to early-stage ventures rooted in local strengths.
Ten startups will be selected each year for an eight-week sprint to build, test, and launch their ideas. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Chowta’s manifesto ‘Nava Yuga Nava Patha’, the initiative seeks to revive the spirit of entrepreneurship in coastal Karnataka, with a special focus on supporting women founders and creating at least 50 success stories in five years.
Chowta noted that 92% of Mangalureans working outside the region are willing to return if suitable opportunities exist, citing a ‘Come Home Tiger’ survey by TiE Mangaluru.
“In a region often in the news for the wrong reasons, Bolpu aims to project stories of innovation and success,” he said.
Johnson Tellis, CEO of Inunity, said Bolpu is not just about startups but about leadership, aiming to bring together ecosystem enablers, business thinkers, and the global Mangaluru diaspora.
