MLA Vedavyas Kamath accuses state govt of delaying permission for traditional sand extraction

Mangaluru, Nov 03, 2023: Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath has accused the state government of delaying permission to commence traditional sand extraction.

 

 

 

Speaking to reporters in the city on November 3, Friday, he said if sand extraction fails to commence in the CRZ limits soon, then there is the fear of halting of construction activities over shortage of sand.

Already the public is facing problem due to high price of sand, he said and blamed the government for the same.

Though the district administration after identifying sand dunes, has submitted its report to the government, the latter is delaying permission, he alleged.

He said several works have come to a halt in the city due to lack of grants and alleged that the government has withheld grants.
