MLA Harish Poonja booked for remarks against CM

Mangaluru, October 28, 2023: Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja has been booked for making derogatory remarks against chief minister Siddaramaiah.

Poonja faced allegations after he posted a comment on social media, referring to the Chief Minister as the "Collection Master (CM) of Karnataka" alongside uploaded photos.

Belthangady police said that a case has been booked against the MLA under sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the IPC. The MLA had allegedly made derogatory remarks against the CM, police said.
