Mangaluru, Oct 4, 2025: Responding to the request of Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty Y., the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced a bus service between Mangaluru and Polali. The service was inaugurated on Thursday at the KSRTC bus stand in Mangaluru.

Inaugurating the service, Dr. Bharath Shetty said that residents had requested government bus connectivity along the rural route covering Vamanjoor, Bondantila, and Polali. A formal appeal was made to the government, and with their approval, the bus service has now been launched. He urged the public to make full use of the facility. Since the rural roads in the area are narrow and winding, only smaller buses will be operated. The schedule has been fixed to suit the convenience of passengers, he added.

MLC Ivan D’Souza, speaking on the occasion, praised MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty for his efforts in ensuring that the long-pending demand for a government bus service was fulfilled. He further pointed out that with the government’s provision of free bus travel for women, a large number of women are already benefiting from such services.

KSRTC officials, bus staff, local residents, and community leaders were present at the event.
