Mangalore, Nov 6, 2012 : MCC officers, under the guidance of health inspectors Ramu and Sreeshanth and assistant health officer Raghunath, sealed a garage in Shivanagara in Pandeshwar on Nov 6, Tuesday for disturbing the people of the locality.

The garage, owned by Ravindra Marnamikatte and Mohammed Wajid Hasan, was so noisy that it was creating a lot of problems for the local people. The public, therefore, filed a complaint with the health officer.
MCC Commissioner Harish Kumar, on June 24, 2011, served a notice on the garage owners to shut down the garage. Ravindra went to court, but the court did not rule in his favor. The commissioner then issued a notice as per Clauses 355 and 443 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act of 1976.
Accordingly, on Nov 6 health officers arrived and sealed the shutters of the garage.
On Oct 16, 2012, the commissioner had sent a letter to the garage owners, warning them that strict action will be taken against them if they fail to shut down the garage within three days of receiving the letter.
