MCC plans to take demolition drive seriously

Mangalore, June 16: The Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) demolished an illegally constructed building near Pumpwell on June 16, Wednesday. 

 

An MCC official said that the structure was constructed on prohibited area. The owner ignored repeated warnings from the MCC and the district administration. Finally, the civic body decided to demolish the structure. 

The MCC official also said that the civic body now takes the issue of illegal construction very seriously and is planning to demolish all illegal structures in Mangalore. Speaking about the necessity of the demolition drive, he said that it will convey the message to building owners in Mangalore that the MCC is serious about demolishing illegal structures and will discourage them from undertaking any illegal building projects.
