MCC officials conduct raid at Soda Shop

Mangalore, Dec 1, 2013: Mangalore City Corporation officials conducted a surprise raid on a soda shop located at Divya Enclave, Jail Road on November 30, Saturday.

Acting on a complaint filed by the public, that the soda shop has been adding non-permitted ingredients and harmful chemicals in the carbonated soda drinks available in variety of flavours, the officials conducted the raid.

 

According to the complainant, this soda is highly consumed by the children and school students due to the low cost and this would affect their health.

The official’s team led by health Inspector Karunakar as directed by the MCC Commissioner Ajith Hegde inspected the shop and collected a few samples of the ingredients which will be sent for lab test. Further action will be taken after receiving the report.

Environment inspectors Madhu, Manjunath and Manu Kumar, health Inspectors Babu, Sushanth, Yashwanth and others participated in the operation.
