MCC issues fresh Covid guidelines to avert a third wave

Mangaluru, Dec  01, 2021: Mangaluru City Corporation has issued a fresh set of guidelines to be strictly adhered to in MCC limits in order to check a third Covid wave. MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar also convened a meeting  with heads of various educational institutions in the city on November 30, Tuesday.

A press communique from the Commissioner said all cultural programmes in educational institutions must be postponed for  two months and all other scheduled conferences, seminars etc must be held online. Students from Kerala and Maharashtra will have to undergo  RT-PCR test every seven days. Institutions must also verify if students have received both doses of vaccine, the release said.

Daily commuters between Mangaluru and Kerala too will have to produce RT-PCR test reports every 14 days. The release said all citizens must mandatorily follow Covid  appropriate behaviour by wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and using hand sanitizers.

The release said the MCC will send a vehicle for vaccination drive if there is information of more than 10 unvaccinated people in a particular area.

District Health Officer Dr Kishore Kumar,  MCC Health Officer Dr Ashok, MCC Deputy Commissioner Ajith and others were present.
