MCC honours new Dakshina Kannada MP Brijesh Chowta

Mangaluru, June 20, 2024: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta has said that he has secured a big opportunity to serve the people of a district which is endowed with abundant resources and ample potential.

He was speaking after receiving a felicitation conferred on him on behalf of the Mangaluru City Corporation on June 19, Wednesday at the MCC office.

He said he considers former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former defence minister George Fernandes as his role models and added that he entered the political field inspired by the two political stalwarts.

Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur, Deputy Mayor Sunitha, former mayors Shashidhar Hegde, Premananda Shetty, Diwaker, MCC Commissioner Anand C L and Corporators were present.

Though newly elected MLC Ivan D’Souza too was to be felicitated at the programme, he had abstained.
