Lokayukta raids Pilikula Development Authority over alleged irregularities

Mangaluru, Oct 17, 2025: Lokayukta officials conducted a raid on the Pilikula Development Authority office located in the outskirts of the city on Thursday.

Led by Lokayukta DYSP Dr. Gana P. Kumar, the team carried out a thorough inspection of the files and documents at the authority’s office. The raid comes amid allegations of significant irregularities in the administration of the authority.

There are accusations of misuse of government-approved funds, with Lokayukta officials currently reviewing income and expenditure details as part of their investigation.

Reports also suggest irregularities in the tendering process and mismanagement in the supply of animal feed at the zoological park managed by the authority. Lokayukta officers are probing serious lapses in the upkeep and operations of the zoo.

Notably, the Lokayukta team had also conducted a raid and inspection at the Pilikula Development Authority office on May 23 earlier this year.
