Lokayukta police nab Commercial Tax Officer for accepting bribe

Mangalore, Feb 8, 2011:  Lokayukta sleuths caught a vat tax assistant commissioner red-handed while accepting bribe at his office located near PWD office on Tuesday, February 8 at 1.00 pm.

  

 

 

 

The officer has been identified as Somashekhar, vat tax assistant commissioner at the commercial tax office situated near PWD office.

It is said that Somashekhar has demanded the amount of Rs 2000 as the bribe from Manoj to allot him the TIN number and certificate of registration.


Lokayukta Police team was led by Jagamayyanavar Sadananda, Superintendent of Police Lokayukta.

Sadananda Varnekar, Circle Inspector of Police, Lokayukta, Uday Nayak, Circle Inspector of police Lokayukta were also part of the raid party.
