Lightning Strike Injures Two in Surathkal

Mangaluru, Oct 19, 2025: Two people sustained minor injuries after lightning struck a house at Madhava Nagar in the central area of Surathkal during a thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain on Saturday night.

The house belongs to a woman identified as Baby. The injured have been identified as Lavanya (19) and Soujanya (16). There were five members in the house at the time of the incident. Both injured were admitted to a private hospital in Mukka for treatment.

The lightning strike also caused damage to the walls and floor of the house, reports said.
