Law is equal to all: CM on Belthangady MLA row

Mangaluru, May 25, 2024: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who arrived in the city on May 25, when asked about the Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja controversy, has questioned whether he can be let off just because he is an MLA.

 

Speaking to reporters at the Mangaluru International Airport, the CM refuted reports of pressure from the Congress to act against the MLA. “What is this pressure? Law is equal to all isn’t it. He has been booked under Section 353. This is a non-bailable offence,” he said.

The CM also questioned in whose favour the MLA went ahead to even threaten the cops.
