Lakshadweep-bound ship stranded in Mangalore

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, May 7: A cruise ship, scheduled to set sail to Lakshadweep on May 1, is still stranded in the port.

Reportedly, the ship developed technical errors, which are yet to be resolved. As a result, hundreds of passengers are stranded in Mangalore and have been put into unnecessary difficulties and expenses.

Although repair work was done, the ship has refused to set sail. A passenger says that the technical problem could be a major one, which cannot withstand quick repairs and that the ship’s crew is afraid of taking risks.

Another passenger said that he is glad the ship developed engine problems while still at anchor and not at sea, several nautical miles from shore. He said that the passengers would have suffered more in that case.

The organizers of the cruise packages say that the ship will be replaced on May 7, Saturday and that the cruise will continue as usual.
