Lady pigmy collector ends life by coming under train

Shiba pigmi collectorKasargod, June 15, 2014: A woman hailing from  Bekal has been found dead on the railway track near the Bekal Railway Station. The suspicion is that she might have ended her life by coming under a moving train.

The deceased is K Shiba (32), wife of Rajesh of Pallikerekuruchikunnu Colony. She worked as a Pigmy collector in Pallikere Seva Sahakari Bank and had reportedly used the funds  given as pigmy collection  for personal purposes . It is said she had also availed loans from money lenders . A death note left behind by her said she was  ending her life as she was unable to return the cash.

Sources say she had taken a loan of Rs 50,000 from  a Pallikere resident a year ago and still had not cleared it entirely despite paying over Rs one lakh including interest and principal. It is learnt the lender had visited her house and threatened to kill her if she did not repay the loan.

Investigations are underway.
