Mangalore, Mar 28: Labhu Ram, the new superintendent of police, took over on March 28, Monday, but avoided the media. Dr. A. S. Rao, the outgoing SP, has been transferred to Bangalore.
Labhu Ram was in DK for a brief period of time in 2006 to undergo field training. He had served as the in-charge superintendent of police for Udupi and the SP of Hassan. He holds a BSc degree and a diploma in general nursing.
Born in Barmar, Rajasthan, Mr. Ram joined the IPS in 2004 after clearing his UPSC examination the previous year. He underwent 10 months of basic training at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. He has chosen Karnataka cadre and was posted in DK to undergo field training.
