LS polls to be held in 1876 booths in DK: DC Mullai Mugilan

Mangaluru, April 24, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Mugilan has said all arrangements are complete for the Lok Sabha elections in the district on April 26 and that the elections will be held in a total of 1876 booths  from 7 am to 6 pm.

 

Speaking to reporters at his office, the DC said the voter’s slips have already been distributed to the houses of the voters. Those coming to booths to exercise their franchise should bring along the voter’s slip apart from one of the 12 ID cards specified including Voters Card or Aadhar.

Candidates or parties cannot have any booths within a radius of 200 meters of the polling booths and cannot campaign. On the day of election public cannot take with them mobile phones or cordless phones. Only officers on election duty are exempt from this rule. Mobile phones have to be deposited at the Mobile Phone Deposit Centres.

No campaign banners or posters are permitted within 100 meters of the polling booth, the DC said.
