Kundapur: Young woman slips into dam; drowns

Kundapur, June 20, 2025: A young woman died after she slipped and fell into the dam water at Jambehadi in Jaddinagadde.

The deceased is Mookambika (23). She worked in a petrol bunk at Amasebailu. Mookambika along with her sister-in-law Ashwini had gone to collect fodder for cattle. Both were on their way home carrying bundles of fodder. While  Ashwini moved ahead, Mookambika followed her. However by the time Ashwini reached home, Mookambika was not to be seen and a frantic search was launched. Later the sickle she used was found near the dam and eventually her body was found in the dam water. It is suspected that she slipped and fell into the water.
