Kundapur Rural SI Collapses, Dies During Police Marathon in Udupi

Udupi, March 1, 2026: Kundapur Rural Sub-Inspector Naseer Hussain (58) collapsed and died while participating in a marathon organised by the district police department at Ajjarkadu Grounds on Sunday morning.

The 5-km run, held under the theme “Namma Police Namma Hemme – Fitness for All,” was aimed at promoting a drug-free Karnataka and spreading cyber awareness. Hundreds of police personnel took part in the event.

According to reports, Hussain suddenly collapsed while running and became critically ill. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Udupi, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Hussain had earlier served as PSI at Amasebailu, Kundapur Town, Kundapur Traffic, Shankaranarayana and Karkala Rural police stations in Udupi district, and at various stations in Chikkamagaluru district.
