Kundapur: Leopard spotted in residential area

Kundapur, June 13, 2025: The presence of a leopard spotted in CCTV camera footage has caused panic among residents of Kundapur town.

On Wednesday late night, a leopard was found moving around in a residential area adjoining the National Highway at Ankadakatte.

The live monitoring CCTV of a security agency has captured a leopard moving in the backyard of the house of a local resident Dr Johnson. The security agency’s staff immediately alerted the residents.

The residents have urged the forest department to take steps to trap the leopard. It may be recalled here that the Forest Department has trapped as many as 15 leopards in the region in the past five year period.
