Kundapur: Gold, cash stolen from locked house

Kundapur, Aug. 14, 2026: Burglars broke into a locked house at Bobbaryanakatte in Kundapur and decamped with gold ornaments and cash while the occupants were away, police said.

The theft occurred at the residence of Sharada, located opposite Bobbaryanakatte. Her son, Vijay Naveen Kumar, had left for Mumbai on August 8 after dropping his mother at his aunt’s house in Kota. The burglary came to light when he returned home on the morning of August 13 and found the house ransacked.


Theft case

According to reports, the thieves gained entry by breaking the latch of the front door using a weapon. They allegedly stole around 8 grams of gold jewellery and foreign currency kept inside a cupboard.

The total value of the stolen gold and cash is estimated at ₹95,000.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Kundapur Circle Inspector Jayaram Gowda, Town Police Station PSI Pushpa and other police personnel visited the spot and conducted an inspection. An investigation is underway.
