Kundapur: Elderly couple die four hours apart; united even in death

Udupi, May 31, 2025: A tragic incident occurred in Gundi near Sasthana, Kundapura, where a husband passed away just four hours after his wife’s death.

The couple, J. Ratnakaraya (84), a retired senior health inspector, and his wife Sarojamma (72), remained united even in death.

Sarojamma passed away in the morning due to a heart attack. While sitting beside her, Ratnakaraya’s health suddenly deteriorated. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.

Despite efforts to treat him, doctors were unable to save him. The deceased couple is survived by a son and a daughter.
