Kundapur : Cops on look out for two auto drivers accused of cheating young women

Kundapur Auto Driver cheating caseKundapur, July 29, 2013: Police  are on the look out for two autorickshaw drivers  who are facing charges of cheating  two girls.


According to reports, the accused Vinod and Pradeep  had  physical relationship with the two girls aged 18 and 16 since the past two years after promising to marry them. It is learnt, the girls belonged to the Koraga community and hailed from Noojadi in Vandse. They worked in a local cashew factory.

As  per a complaint lodged  with the  police by the mother of one of the girls, the duo had  on July 2 even taken the girls to a forest area where they raped them. She also charged the two autorickshaw drivers of threatening to kill the girls if they  made the matter public.

 It is learnt, the woman had been trying to lodge a complaint since the past  three months but failed as the Kollur SI refused to file the case and instead suggested her to go for a compromise. Finally, a local Dalit leader named Sushil had taken  up the case following which a case was registered on July 27, Saturday night.

Investigations are underway.
