Kundapur: Cattle smuggling bid foiled at Hosangadi check post; 3 held, 2 vehicles seized

Kundapur, Apr 6, 2026: In a case of illegal cattle transportation with an escort vehicle, the Amasebail police intercepted a goods vehicle at the Hosangadi check post on Sunday.

Police personnel on duty stopped a goods vehicle arriving from Hulikal Ghat for inspection. During the check, they found two bulls being transported in a cruel manner.

The police seized both the cattle transport vehicle and the escort vehicle, taking into custody two vehicles and arresting three accused. During preliminary inquiry, the accused reportedly admitted that the cattle were being transported for slaughter.

The arrested have been identified as Mustaq Hussain Saab Nadaf (29) and Saleem Hussain Saab Nadaf (33), both from Belagavi, and Nadeem Abdul Khader (34) of Jumma Masjid Road, Kandlur. Mohammed Naufil, who was in the escort car, along with another person, managed to escape.

A case has been registered at Amasebail police station, and further investigation is underway.
