Kundapur: Auto-rickshaw driver killed in pickup truck collision

Kundapur, Oct 18, 2025: In a tragic road accident, an auto-rickshaw driver was killed when a pickup truck collided with his vehicle at Shirooru Kelapete on Saturday, October 18.

The deceased has been identified as Kara Iliyas, 49, a resident of Hadavinkone New Colony in Shirooru village.

Sources said a fish-laden pickup truck traveling from Malpe towards Bhatkal hit the auto-rickshaw from behind as it was heading to the Shirooru market.

The driver suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot due to the impact.

A case has been registered at the Byndoor police station.
