Kundapur : 19 yr girl ends life by jumping from top of municipal water tank

Kundapur, April 21, 2015 : A 19 year old girl who climbed a municipality water tank of around 100 feet height  at Sangam in the town, later allegedly jumped to death  from top on April 20, late Monday evening. It is believed that frustration in life due to ill-health drove her to the extreme step.

 

The deceased has been identified as  Shobhina, daughter of Babanna of Kotegudde.  It is said she was suffering from eye cancer since a year and was depressed owing to it.

She hailed from a poor family  which worked in a hotel to eke out a living. Shobhina however worked in a shop in the town.

Locals say the  TMC authorities ought to have some gate to the tank area  to prevent people from climbing the  ladder attached to the tank.

Kundapur police have registered a case.
