Kumbla: 20 sovereigns of gold jewellery stolen from Gulf worker’s house

Kumbla, Oct 27, 2025: A burglary in which 20 sovereigns of gold jewellery were stolen has been reported from Periyadka, near Permude, within the Kumbla police station limits in Kasaragod. The incident came to light on Sunday evening.

The theft occurred at the residence of Sharif, a Gulf worker currently employed in Dubai. His wife Rukhsana and their two children had locked the house and gone to visit relatives two days earlier. When they returned home on Sunday evening, they found the house had been broken into.


Theft case


The burglars reportedly broke the back grill and the door lock to enter the house and stole gold ornaments kept in a cupboard. Clothes and other items from the cupboard were found scattered across the room, and an iron rod used to break the lock was discovered inside the house.

Kumbla police visited the spot and collected evidence. It is suspected that individuals familiar with the family’s movements may be behind the theft.
