Kumaraswamy willing to face any inquiry

Rubbishing Yeddyurappa’s statement that land scams, which allegedly took place during the JDS regime, will be subjected to CBI enquiry, Kumaraswamy demanded to know when Yeddyurappa began trusting the CBI. Repeating that the Gowda family is willing to face any enquiry, he pointed out the irony of the fact that Yeddyurappa, who had been saying all this time that he “does not trust the CBI,” has suddenly begun threatening that he will demand a CBI enquiry into the cases against the Gowda family.

Expressing his willingness to cooperate with Justice Santhosh Hegde with regard to the seven land scam cases, which allegedly took place during the JDS rule, he said that he will provide any information related to these cases to the ombudsman within 48 hours.

Criticizing the government’s attempts to show the Lokayukta in a negative light by seeking details about the progress of these cases, he said that he will personally write to the Lokayukta to investigate the cases in 7 days and place the truth before the public. Advising the BJP-led state government not to confront the Lokayukta, he criticized BJP MLAs who made disparaging remarks against the Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde in public. Making fun of their demands that the Lokayukta should apologize to the CM, he said that these BJP MLAs do not even know how to react in a proper manner. Criticizing their lack of knowledge that the Lokayukta is a constitutional authority, Kumaraswamy demanded to know if these MLAs will demand apologies from a judge if he passes judgment against the CM.

Declaring that he will continue fighting against the CM even if he reincarnates 8 times, he said that his is not a personal fight, but a fight against abuse of power and nepotism. Taking offence against the government launching ad campaigns to expose the alleged scams of his family, he pointed out errors in the first set of ads published in Hosadigantha and Udayavani.

Referring to the sand mining mafia in DK district, Mr. Kumaraswamy said that powerful people in power, including the district-in-charge minister are involved in this illegal business.
