
Mangalore, Dec 15, 2012: State JD(S) President and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has dared RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat and has warned of action against him if the JD(S) came to power in the state.
Addressing a convention of Christians organized by the JD(S) in Mangalore on December 15, Saturday, Kumaraswamy said so with reference to the arrest of a journalist in Mangalore. “ Just because a journalist exposed the wrongdoings of people in the name of Hindu religion and culture, he has been arrested,” Kumaraswamy said alleged that Kalladka Bhat was under the impression that he has control over the administration and police.
Also taking a dig at the Congress, Kumaraswamy said the party which seemed to be favouring the minorities was in reality not in favour of them.
On this occasion, the former chief minister also promised an exclusive minorities development corporation for the Christians, headed by a Christian leader, if his party was voted to power.
Kumaraswamy said the existing minority development corporation was headed by a Muslim leader most of the time. He also promised that the JD(S) would give enough representation to Christians during the upcoming elections.
Kumaraswamy further chose to blame both the Congress and BJP for the religious disharmony in the state and also in the district,
Several JD(S) leaders including Amarnath Shetty, Sadananda Shetty, Nagaraj Shetty, Aboobakker Natekal, MG Hegde, Zameer Ahmed Khan, Sushil Noronha were present.
