Kukke Subramanya temple leads state in revenue, Followed by Kollur in second place

Sullia, April 7, 2024: For the 13th consecutive year, Mahatobara Kukke Sri Subramanya Temple has maintained its position as the highest income-generating temple in Karnataka. In the fiscal year 2023-24, the temple reported a remarkable income of Rs 146.01 crore, compared to Rs 123 crore in the previous year.

Following closely behind, Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple secured the second position with an income of Rs 68.23 crore, while Nanjangud Srikanteshwara Temple earned Rs 30.73 crore. Other temples contributing significantly to the state’s temple revenue include Savadathi Renuka Yellamma Temple (Rs 25.80 crore), Mandarti Durgaparameshwari Temple (Rs 15.27 crore), Huligemma Devi Temple of Koppal (Rs 16.29 crore), Ghati Subramanya Temple (Rs 13.65 crore), and Banashankari Temple of Bengaluru (Rs 11.37 crore).

The income sources for these temples include contracts, produce from temple farms, commercial and lodging rents, offertory services, vow services, grants, and permanent services.

The total income calculation for all Muzrai temples in the state has been completed, with the division of income from services and offertory currently underway, expected to be finalized within the next two days.

Notably, Mahatobara Kukke Sri Subramanya Temple’s financial journey began in 2006-07 with an income of Rs 19.76 crore, which soared to Rs 24.44 crore in 2007-08, securing its status as the wealthiest temple in Karnataka. Since then, it has consistently maintained its position at the top.
