Belthangady, Aug 18, 2012 : It is now suspected that the death of Krishnappa Gowda, who was initially believed to have been killed by Pakistani soldiers near the Indo-Pak border, is actually a case of murder.
Krishnappa Gowda of Belthangady, son of Channappa Gowda, was a non-commissioned officer in the Indian Army.
According to the Kant police, he was killed by Pakistani soldiers when he was on duty. SP Abhishek Goyal said that the Kant police sent the first investigation report (FIR) to the DK police, and the DK police have written to the Kant police requesting details of the investigation so that they can find out exactly how Krishnappa died.
Mr. Goyal has also given a copy of the FIR to Krishnappa’s brother in the Belthangady police station.
According to reliable sources, Krishnappa was killed from close range as there was a cut injury from his neck to his ears.
