Mangaluru, Dec 14, 2021: Kota Srinivas Poojary from the BJP and Manjunath Bhandary from the Congress have won the elections to the two-member Local Authorities Constituency of the state Legislative Council, held on December 10. The counting of votes was held on December 14, Tuesday.
Of the total 6,011 votes polled in 389 booths, Kota Srinivas Poojary secured 3,672 votes while Manjunath Bhandary got 2,079 votes. On the basis of first preference votes, both have been declared winners.
SDPI candidate Shafi Bellare secured 204 votes.
Of the total 6,011 votes polled, 56 votes were declared invalid. With this win, Kota Srinivas Poojary has entered the legislative council for the fourth successive term.
