
Udupi, January 13, 2026: Konkan Railway conducted extensive and continuous ticket-checking operations throughout 2025, collecting fines totaling Rs 20.27 crore, according to an official statement.
In December 2025 alone, the railway carried out 998 special inspections, identifying 43,896 unauthorised or irregular passengers. Fines and unpaid fares amounting to Rs 2.45 crore were collected from them.
From January to December 2025, a total of 8,481 ticket-checking drives were conducted, uncovering 3,68,901 cases of unauthorised or irregular travel, the release stated.
Railway authorities noted that these intensified checks aimed to curb ticketless travel and maintain discipline among passengers along the Konkan Railway route.
