Kettikal hill looks scary; suspicion over land mafia, says minister Dinesh Gundurao; orders probe

Mangaluru, August 2, 2024: DK District in-charge Minister Dinesh Gundurao who visited Kettikal area which is facing fears of landslide, has ordered a high level probe regarding the suspicion that a land mafia is at work in this place where Highway works are underway.

The minister who inspected the Kettikal hill, said it looks very scary. He said soil excavation has been done here unabatedly in the name of Highway works. He said that the district administration as well as the MCC have warned of the danger the hill posed here, right in the month of February. He said measures would be taken to find out what the MCC has done to mitigate the problem. He said he will also seek a report to know why soil excavation was allowed here by the Department of Mines and Geology.
