Kaup : A couple charred to death in house at Pangala

 Kaup, Aug 6, 2013 : In a shocking incident, a couple were charred to death in their house at Katapady Beedu in Pangala on August 6, Tuesday morning. It is immediately not known if it was an accidental fire or the couple deliberately set themselves on fire.

 The deceased have been identified as Vijaya Shetty, a supervisor with Navayug Constructions and his wife Chandrika Shetty. The couple has a daughter who studies PUC. The room where the bodies were found was gutted in the mishap.

The locals informed the fire service personnel at around 7.45 am  and the bodies were  retrieved.

Udupi District in-charge Minister Vinaykumar Sorake and former MLA Lalaji Mendon visited the spot. Kaup police are investigating.
