Kasargod violence : 200 RSS activists booked

Kasargod, Feb 02, 2015: Police have registered cases against as many as 200 RSS activists in connection with February 1 Sunday night’s incidents of sporadic violence at Bovikan, Kumble and Povval in the aftermath of the RSS Vijayshakti rally.

As already reported several cases of stone pelting incidents  caused damage to vehicles, houses and shops. Sources said after some miscreants stoned vehicles in which RSS workers were returning from the rally, several other stone pelting incidents took place in retaliation.A Youth Congress  Office at Arikkady was also stoned on Sunday.

Though the situation in the affected areas is peaceful, shops and business establishments all along Bovikan to Povval have remained closed. Even buses are off the roads.

Police have maintained a strict vigil to avert untoward incidents.
