
Kasargod, Sep 17, 2013 : Kasargod is observing a bundh on September 17, Tuesday in protest against the murder of a CPI(M) activist on September 16, Monday night at Uduma Mangad.

The deceased is MB Balakrishna (45), a CPM worker who was a tempo driver. Sources said he was stabbed grievously by some unidentified assailants who waylaid his bike while he was returning home at around 9 pm. Locals who saw him in a pool of blood rushed him to the hospital where he breathed his last. Some stray incidents of violence and clashing were reported following the murder.
Shops and business establishments have remained closed in Kasargod and even buses are off the roads. Police have maintained tight security to prevent any untoward incident.
The CPI(M) has suspected the hands of the Congress and Muslim League behind the murder.
