Kasargod man arrested with 50,000 $ at Mangalore airport

 Mangalore,Feb 10, 2014 : A person hailing from Koodlu in Kasargod who was in possession of 55,000 US Dollars  was apprehended by the Customs Officials at the  Mangalore International Airport on February 10  Monday morning before he could board an Air India Express flight to Dubai.

 

The arrested man is Abdul Basheer Kadappuram Mohammad. The seized foreign currency was worth over Rs 34 lakhs in Indian currency.

He was arrested as the officials found no valid documentation for  the foreign currency he had with him.

The case has been shifted to teh Directorate of Revenue Intelligence.
