Kasargod : Youth found murdered ; friend taken into custody

Kasargod, May 3, 2013 :  A youth identified as Krishnan (28) hailing from Putttariadka in Chattanchal was found dead under mysterious circumstances at an isolated spot at Mahinbad in Chattanchal on May 2, Thursday. Police suspect this to be a case of murder and have taken into custody Nawaz (28), said to be a friend of the deceased.

 Police have also recovered two bottles of beer, a water bottle and plastic bag from the scene of the crime. They suspect the murder might have taken place on May 1, Wednesday. The two  were earlier seen coming out of a hotel with food packet in their hands on May 1, Wednesday afternoon.

There are reports that the two who were close friends had a quarrel over a sum of Rs 50,000 which Krishnan had borrowed from Nawaz a year ago. It is learnt the loan was availed for Krishnan’s sister’s wedding.

Sources said the  murder was committed under the influence of  alcohol and that Nawaz had strangled Krishnan to death.

Investigations are in progress.
