Kasargod: Social Media Influencer K. Reshma Found Dead at Residence

Kasargod, Feb 9, 2025: Social media influencer K. Reshma, popularly known as Chinnu Papu, was found dead inside her rented house in Kasargod on Monday, February 9. She was 24.

A native of Adhur, Reshma was reportedly found in her house and was rushed to a nearby hospital by neighbours, where doctors declared her brought dead. Police suspect suicide, though the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

The Kasargod Town police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation. According to preliminary information, Reshma had entered into a love marriage and had reportedly obtained a divorce about a month ago. The couple have a four-year-old child. Police said initial findings suggest that family-related issues may have contributed to the incident.

Reshma had gained popularity on social media for her short videos and reels, often presented in her distinctive Kasargod Malayalam accent and occasionally in Tulu. With over two lakh followers on Instagram, she was known for showcasing village life and rural culture, which earned her a wide following.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased have sought a detailed and comprehensive investigation into the incident. Police said further inquiry is under way and details will emerge after the investigation progresses.
