Kasargod: Rat snake rescued after gold ring gets stuck in Adoor home drawer

Kasargod, May 6, 2026: In a strange incident, a rat snake was found trapped inside a table drawer at a house in Adoor with a gold ring tightly stuck around its body.

The incident came to light at the residence of Ravi when children playing in the house tried to open the drawer and were shocked to find a coiled snake inside. Adding to the surprise, a gold ring was firmly wedged around the snake’s midsection, restricting its movement.

It is believed that the snake may have entered the drawer through a small gap in search of food and accidentally got stuck in the ring that was kept inside. Fortunately, the children did not attempt to touch the snake, avoiding any potential danger.

On being alerted, forest department rescue personnel rushed to the spot. They carefully removed the snake from the drawer and cut the gold ring without causing any harm to it.

The snake was later released safely into its natural habitat. The unusual incident has left local residents surprised and highlights the need for caution while handling closed spaces and household storage areas.
