Kasargod: Paivalike man brutally murdered by car bound assailants

Kasargod, Jan 26, 2014: A person hailing from Paivalike was brutally murdered by a gang of assailants after waylaying his car  on the Paivalike-Chevar Road on January 25, Saturday night.

The incident took place when Balige Aziz (38) was heading towards Paivalike from Permude in his Maruti Ritz car. The assailants, around four to five in number who were in an Ambassador car, forced Aziz to stop after dashing their vehicle against his car.

Though Aziz tried to get out of the car and escape, the assailants inflicted him with injuries with sharp weapons and   escaped  in another car after abandoning the Ambassador car in which they had arrived.

It is learnt, the deceased Aziz is one of the accused in the  case of murder of Abdul Jabbar, a Congress leader,  which was reported in 2009. Though a total of nine persons were convicted in the case, Aziz who too was an accused, had agreed to be a witness and was thereupon released. It is learnt, he was wanted in several other cases of crime.

Manjeshwar police are investigating the case.
