Kasargod: Hotelier’s murder- 4 arrested including a girl

Kasargod, May 28, 2023: The Malappuram Police arrested four individuals, including an 18-year-old girl from Chennai, in connection with the murder of a hotel owner.

The victim, Muccheri Siddique (58), from Tirur who ran a hotel in Olavanna, Calicut, was brutally murdered on May 18. His body was chopped and hidden in two trolley suitcases, then dumped in a valley.

The arrested suspects are Shibili (22), Farhana (18), Gafoor (Farhana’s brother), and Aashiq.

The police recovered the trolley bag from the valley at the ninth bend of Attappady.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had booked a room at De Cas Inn hotel in Calicut on May 18. Siddique had also booked two rooms in the same hotel. The accused and Siddique stayed together in one room.

Siddique was killed in the hotel, and his body was dismembered and placed in two trolley bags, which were then thrown into the Attappady valley on May 19. The act was captured on the hotel’s CCTV footage.

After disposing of the bags in Attappady, the accused fled to Chennai. On May 24, Siddique’s son filed a missing person report with the police. Siddique’s mobile phone had been turned off since the day of the crime. The report also mentioned that Rs two lakh had been withdrawn using Siddique’s ATM card. Based on evidence, including Siddique’s last call from his mobile phone in Calicut, the police were able to track the case.
